The Swiss authorities announced that a suitcase containing $190,000's worth of gold bars was found in a Lucerne-bound train.

Only in Switzerland!

The Swiss authorities announced that a suitcase containing $190,000's worth of gold bars was found in a Lucerne-bound train coming from St. Gallen, the German-speaking part of Switzerland in October 2019... and, so far, efforts to find the owner have failed.

The gold was then seized by Lucerne prosecutors and regional authorities released a statement confirming that any claimant has now five years to come forth with a justified claim of ownership.

This raised two burning questions at the GOLD AVENUE office:

  • How on earth, can you "forget" $190,000's worth of gold bars? 😲
  • Why on earth haven't you stored your gold in our secured vaults? 😉
