The Canadian Mint, better known as the Royal Canadian Mint, is the Canadian crown agency responsible for the production of all coins currently in circulation in Canada. The Canadian Mint, founded in 1908, is a for profit organization and the sole shareholder is the Government of Canada.
The Royal Canadian Mint produces collector coins, coins currently in circulation and bullion coins in gold, silver, platinum and palladium. The Canadian platinum coin is the Maple Leaf coin available on our website. As of 2009, the Canadian Mint produces only the platinum version from onyx.
