FENDER: the legendary American music icon has his new extra heavy metal pick
Leo Fender did not know after he built his first electric guitar that he set the stage for the Fender® Musical Instruments Company. After beginning as a radio repairman, he transitioned into creating musical instruments and amplifiers in 1943 with a local musician.
Fender and Doc Kaufmann established K&F Manufacturing Corp, but after a few years, Fender continued independently with a vision to forge a guitar that was versatile and simple to use. He also wanted to make a guitar that was louder and more exciting than others. His vision led him to create “The Esquire”, later known as the Telecaster, in 1950. This was the first mass-produced solid-body electric guitar that was also used by George Harrison, Bruce Springsteen, and Keith Richards. That same year he created the world’s first electric bass, the Precision Bass®, and bass amp, the Bassman®.
The Fender® Company began in Southern California and is now an American icon and one of the most famous manufacturers of instruments in the world. Its guitars, bass guitars, amplifiers, and accessories have been used widely by bands and musicians recognized in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and more.
